I find incredible that here we have a faulty product for which I have just had a mail shot for.
Surely it cannot be good business sense to send out mail shots for a product that has a known flaw?
I appreciate it is being worked on but find it annoying to get a mail shot while Impulse keeps getting updates, which works, while a faulty product is still waiting to be fixed.

Yup!!!

While we are being told that it is at the forefront of development, I see the same developer putting up posts asking for people to help test the latest releases of Impulse.... its pretty easy to see where the energies are being focussed at the present time.

Fix the program and give me what I paid for and what you are still advertising as a fully functioning program. Receiving such mail shots for a product that I know isn't working as advertised is both insulting and frustrating to the end user and generates a feeling of a con.

Still waiting to get what we paid for here.

Seabass is support, not a developer.

He is still in close communication with the developers of Impulse and IP4 as he is making requests here on their behalf. As such, he is in a clear position to communicate to the community where the developers' energies are being directed and in a position to liaison.

Granted, although I don't believe communicating 'still waiting to get what we paid for here' is going to help the developers fix any issues with the program.

Are you taking forum members/consumers for frogs ?

Surely u aren't suggesting that I re-issue Stardock support with details that they have already have been provided with. Ive extensively read the forums and been following the issues with the problems...trying all the suggestions and seeing that the already provided data corresponds exactly to my problem. The developers know what the symptoms are as they have been posted continuously by users and my situation is no different... its been stated over and over again.

Its been a month in discussion and my issue hasn't been resolved and its clear that developers energies are quite possibly focussed elsewhere, namely Impulse.

If a consumer buys a product or service and that product is unable to perform to the specifications to which it is advertised, then that consumer has every right to communicate a dissatisfaction at the product and express their desire to be provided with the indeed advertised, fully-functioning product or service.

My posts here are indeed aimed at supporting the community, in as far as publicly airing my consumer opinion about a product and hoping that will generate a keener desire to update that product. Secondly, it supports the consumer by making them aware that, if they are interested in purchasing the product, it may well be the case that what they currently receive, may not be to the specification of the advertised product.

The benefits of posting 'gripes' to some back-alley email address is more of a benefit to the company, so complaints are never seen publicly, than of direct benefit to the consumer thinking other than mere short-term satisfaction.

If your belief that publicly expressing that opinion is in no way going to help the consumer nor generate a greater motivation on behalf of the company to speedily correct faults within the product, then I imagine that says more about the standards of the company than the consumer himself.

I wanted to make something clear. Impulse is not developed by the same team as Icon Packager. The Icon Packager bug is not being neglected in any way, it is simply taking more time to create a fix that works on all OSs every time. I have made many people aware of the disdain in this issue present on the forums. I wish I could give more information than that but at this time we are scrambling to get this fix out to you in a working product. It would be even worse if a bug like this had a fix for it that didn't work either.

Please be patient and we will supply you with the correction the very instant that we can.

I had a problem with the update a few days ago.

Impulse told me that my subcription was not valid for activation. ( Of course I knew better.... I have OD Ultimate... exp. date in October)

So I went to the registration tab... and resubmitted my OD information that was already on the screen.

It took about 4 sec. and everything was ready.

Hope this helps.
