I would just like a quick check with our customers if some are still having issues with the Start menu docklet that comes built into Object Dock Plus. There seems to be some kind of inconsistency with this issue and was just curious if you could help me narrow down this bug.

I just bought Objectdock 1.90 Plus Build 535u yesterday and I get the error message with the start menu docklet... "unable to find start menu to show... please try again..."
Have to restart my windows session to fix the problem but then it just comes back again after the 3rd click on the start menu applet
I had the free version installed before but uninstalled it before installing the full version.
Using WinXp Media Center 2002 SP2

I really like the app though... Looks great!

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but meh...

Vista Ultimate x64
8800GTS Forceware version: 163.69
Molten Animated Skin
Obejct Dock (1.90i[b].020) Start Menu Docklet (Default)

Every time I click the docklet the start menu appears then flickers to where I can see the data and to where I can't see the data, then it just stays blank (shown in the link below) until I click on the start menu...no big deal just FYI.

Can not show start menu at this time, please try again" . Anyone have fix for this. I alos have a problem with getting the SYSTRAY to work under OBject Dock not sure they are related but was able to work around that one with the following third party Doc "ObjectDock Tray v2.0" which works flawlessly.

Just downloaded ObjectDock Plus for Vista 32bit. Star Menu Launcher works fine for me. However I am wondering about its behvaiour when clicked.

I notice that when I click it, the Start menu pops up, but the ObjectDock is still active behind it. (i.e. objects in the dock still zoom in/out as I mouseover them.) As a user, I would expect the ObjectDock should freeze while the start menu is still open (like how the dock freezes when you click the "Click to search Google now!" docklet.

Is there a reason why the Start menu launcher does not have this behaviour?

I don't know if there is an exact reason but I will forward this on as a user feature request.

I have an ATI video card and run OD + 1.9 and my start docklet runs fine, animated start menu or not. I also have it as my left most icon and see the whole menu perfectly. I run XP Home SP2, btw.

Hope that helps!

No problems here. All 3 cpu's have ATI vid cards, 2 XP's, 1 Vista

I believe this issue is cornered. If you are experiencing this problem expect a fix in the next build.

Hi !

I try the startmenue and get this result:

StartMenu helper file was injected but failed to take effect.
Can not show start menu at this time, please try again.

I ´m running Objectdock plus 1.90 Build 537u
I use a ATI Radeon X1950 vid-card on XP-Home SP2

I just can watch another effect: my second docklet don´t show the background
aero zoomer ! I use aero zoomer on my first dock without any problems but on
the second dock it doesn´t appear; there is no visible background .....
other background are working pretty fine.

Is it possible, that you can use one background type only for one dock ??

I don´t think so.

Any suggestions ?!?

Hi,

my startmenu docklet isn't working properly either: I get the same error message as Firebolt111.

The error occurs after the 2nd click on the docklet after a restart of ObjectDock Plus. The first attempt shows the startmenu properly. On the 2nd attempt the error message is shown.

Subsequent attempts yield the "unable to find the start menu" error.

I'm running Vista Basic 64 German.

Has the next build of OD (Plus) arrived already?

Best regards, Lars

I recently installed ObjectDock 1.9 free version. When I tried using the built-in start button, I encountered a problem. The first time I open the start menu by using the button in ObjectDock, it works just fine. The second time, the start menu pops up, but as soon as I move my cursor over it, I get the error message: "StartMenu helper file was injected but failed to take effect.
Can not show start menu at this time, please try again."
Any subsequent attempts to open the start menu just cause the error message:
"Object Dock was unable to find the start menu to show.
Can not show start menu at this time, please try again."

This problem resets itself when ObjectDock is restarted, but it won't let me use the start menu more than once.

Also, when the start menu does pop up, it always pops up in the lower-left corner, no matter where the dock is. Is there any way to change this?

Anyway, I hope you can help. My system specs are:
Windows Vista Business
AMD Turion Mobile Technology ML-37 CPU (2.00 GHz)
2048 MB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon X700 Graphics card

I believe that behaviour is typical for the free version.  It was fixed in the Plus but the free fix is still pending.  Sorry.
Hopefully it'll be released soon.
